about

what makes mama pacha better?!

In today’s market, Latin flavor options with no added salt or artificial additives are limited. The average American consumes around 3,400 mg of sodium per day, while the Dietary Guidelines recommend keeping intake below 2,300 mg—roughly one teaspoon of salt!

OUR brand promise

To tackle this, Mama Pacha Sabor has developed spice blends that deliver authentic Latin flavor using only natural ingredients, without preservatives or added salt. Our eco-friendly, space-saving packaging makes these healthy options affordable and accessible. Locally, Mama Pacha Sabor is helping diversify the spice blend market, making the region more inclusive and welcoming for the Latino community.

COOKING FOR A CAUSE

How the Pandemic Inspired My Puerto Rican Food Business to Help Families in Need

Hola, I’m Leslie Hernandez, the founder of Mama Pacha Sabor! This journey began in 2020, during the pandemic, while I was working as a Special Instructor for the State of Missouri supporting families and children with special needs. Many of the families I served didn’t have computers or tablets for online learning, some were even sharing a single smartphone. So I followed my heart (and my sazón!) and started selling authentic Puerto Rican food to raise money for their technology needs.

Thanks to the love and support of my amazing friends, I was able to provide 15 computers and tablets to families who needed them most. The dishes I cook are made just the way I make them for my loved ones—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and my custom spice blends. Customers kept asking, “What seasoning do you use?” and I proudly answered, “It’s my own blend, inspired by the flavors my mother taught me.”

That’s how “De Mi Madre Aprendí” — From My Mother I Learned — was born. And today, we’ve grown into Mama Pacha Sabor, named in honor of my mother and infused with all her flavor. Every product I create carries that same love, heritage, and Puerto Rican sabor straight from my family’s kitchen to yours.

"I use fresh ingredients and also combine the spices just like my mother used to do for her homemade Puerto Rican foods."
